After an abortion, some women may experience nightmares or flashbacks, emotional numbness, depression, bouts of crying, guilt and shame, grief and sadness. Some find themselves avoiding friends’ baby showers and babies. Some increase their use of alcohol and/or drugs or engage in risky sexual behavior. Some even become pregnant shortly after the abortion to replace the aborted baby or to prove the abortion didn't leave them sterile. Others feel deep remorse and regret and are afraid others may find out their "secret." Some have difficulty bonding with their other children. Still others feel alienated from God, believing He can't and won't forgive them.

Sometimes a woman may believe she doesn't have any problems with her past abortion, but problems may not surface for ten or more years after the abortion.

Using biblical principles, we offer individual or group counseling to women who are experiencing problems as a result of a past abortion decision. We seek to lead them to God’s grace, mercy, and love so that they may experience His peace and forgiveness.

What participants have said about our post-abortion counseling:

"It’s so nice to know that I am not alone in my thoughts and pain."

"It’s healing to talk with other women about abortion and different circumstances in a non-threatening setting."

"My child became real to me. I just didn't have an abortion; I had a baby."

"I was able to see that I was forgiven, but I had not accepted the forgiveness yet in my heart. Thanks so much for what you do and for caring."

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING ABORTION AND BREAST CANCER!!

In 1994 the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research center in Seattle, WA, conducted a study to investigate the Abortion-Breast Cancer link. Their findings include:

**Women who had chosen abortion were 50% more likely to get breast cancer by age 45.
**If a woman has a family history of breast cancer, the chance increased to 80%.
**The chance increased to more than 100% for women who had a abortion before age 18 or after age 30.
**There is an incalculably high risk for those who have a family history of breast cancer and had an abortion before age 18.

Thirteen of fourteen studies in the U.S. and 27 of 33 studies worldwide, dating back to 1957, show an increased risk of breast cancer with induced abortion.(1)

Dr. Daling, one of the researchers, who is pro-choice herself, told the Los Angeles Daily News in September 1997, "If politics gets involved in science, it will really hold back the progress that we make. I have three sisters with breast cancer, and I resent people messing with the scientific data to further their own agenda, be they pro-choice or pro-life. I would have loved to have found no association between breast cancer and abortion, but our research is rock solid, and our data is accurate. It’s not a matter of believing, it’s a matter of what is."
